Beylikdüzü & Bahçeşehir Airport Transfer Guide: IST and SAW (2026)

How to travel between Beylikdüzü or Bahçeşehir and Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW). Travel times, shuttle, taxi and private transfer tips.

Illustration of a private airport transfer vehicle travelling from Beylikdüzü toward Istanbul Airport

Beylikdüzü and Bahçeşehir are two popular neighbourhoods on Istanbul's European side—but they need different airport plans. A hotel near Marmara Park is not the same journey as an apartment near Bahçeşehir Gölet. And the airport code on your ticket matters just as much as the district: IST is Istanbul Airport on the European side, while SAW is Sabiha Gökçen Airport on the Asian side.

In this guide, we compare road travel, airport coaches, public transport and pre-booked private transfers. Whether you are coming to a TÜYAP exhibition, visiting family or flying home, the goal is the same: a realistic trip from your exact door to the correct terminal.

At a glance: Beylikdüzü and Bahçeşehir to IST or SAW

Road times below are broad planning ranges, not guaranteed ETAs. The start point, toll-road choice, incident-related delays and peak-hour congestion can change the journey substantially.

RouteIndicative private-car timePlanning note
Beylikdüzü ↔ Istanbul Airport (IST)Approximately 50–90 minCheck Marmara Park, TÜYAP and residential estate pickup details.
Bahçeşehir ↔ Istanbul Airport (IST)Approximately 40–75 minExact Bahçeşehir quarter and Ispartakule location matter.
Beylikdüzü ↔ Sabiha Gökçen (SAW)Approximately 90–160+ minCross-city and bridge traffic can be significant.
Bahçeşehir ↔ Sabiha Gökçen (SAW)Approximately 75–145+ minCrossing to the Asian side makes buffer time essential.

Distances and journey times are indicative only. For a flight, add the airline’s recommended check-in margin after your expected road journey; on high-traffic days allow more time than these ranges.

Beylikdüzü to Istanbul Airport (IST): where should your car pick you up?

Beylikdüzü stretches beyond a single metrobus stop. A passenger at Marmara Park, a resident of Adnan Kahveci, a hotel guest near TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center and someone staying in Yakuplu or Gürpınar may all receive different driving routes. When arranging an airport pickup, share the complete address, site entrance and building number—not simply “Beylikdüzü”.

For travellers leaving after a fair or exhibition, time your pickup around the event’s closing rush. Road congestion near the exhibition centre and the E-5 corridor can be more important than the straight-line distance to the airport.

Bus or private transfer?

Havaist airport coaches offer a useful lower-cost option when a current stop is convenient to you. The service towards the Beylikdüzü/Avcılar area may involve a short taxi or public-transport ride to the relevant stop. For a hotel, villa or residential compound away from the stop, a pre-booked door-to-door vehicle removes that extra connection.

A private transfer can also be practical when four or more passengers are travelling together, because you can book a vehicle suited to the group and its luggage instead of juggling several last-mile journeys.

Bahçeşehir to Istanbul Airport (IST): a different starting point

Bahçeşehir is inland, with important pickup areas around Bahçeşehir Gölet, 1. Kısım, 2. Kısım and nearby Ispartakule. These locations can be closer to Istanbul Airport than parts of Beylikdüzü, but a wrong meeting entrance can still cost precious minutes.

Airport coaches also serve the Bahçeşehir area on selected routes. However, you should verify today’s boarding location, operating hours and luggage rules rather than relying on an older online timetable. If your flight is early or your arrival is late, consider the extra taxi ride or waiting time needed to reach a coach stop.

What if your flight uses Sabiha Gökçen (SAW)?

Sabiha Gökçen is on the Asian side of Istanbul. If you are staying in Beylikdüzü or Bahçeşehir, the road journey is not comparable to a quick transfer from the same district to IST. The trip usually crosses a major intercontinental road corridor and may involve bridge or motorway tolls.

For SAW, the most useful question is not “How many kilometres?” but “How much margin will I need at this time of day?” An early-morning ride may feel completely different from a weekday late-afternoon crossing. Public transport can be economical but often means multiple connections, longer walking distances and more time handling luggage.

Book to the three-letter airport code shown on the ticket. Mixing up IST and SAW is one of the easiest ways to turn a straightforward airport day into an expensive problem.

Compare your transfer choices

OptionBest forWhat to check
Airport coachSolo travellers or small groups near a designated stopCurrent stop, operating time, luggage allowance and final walk
Public transit connectionsLight luggage and flexible schedulesTransfers, stairs, frequency and last service
Metered taxiFlexible, on-demand journeysExpected tolls, luggage capacity, queue and traffic
Pre-booked private transferFamilies, groups, business travellers and door-to-door travelFinal quote, luggage, child seats, flight tracking and meeting instructions

There is no single “best” option for every passenger. A traveller staying opposite an airport-bus stop has different needs from a family arriving after midnight with three suitcases and two children.

Planning a smooth airport pickup or drop-off

  1. Confirm the airport: IST and SAW are on opposite sides of the city.
  2. Give a precise address: the estate or building gate is especially important in Beylikdüzü and Bahçeşehir.
  3. Share the flight number: it helps the transfer operator match the requested pickup to the correct arrival or departure.
  4. Check vehicle capacity: passengers, cabin bags, suitcases and child-seat requests may change the recommended vehicle.
  5. Allow a road-traffic margin: particularly during evening peak hours, exhibition days and cross-city SAW journeys.
  6. Review the actual quote: tolls, waiting conditions and any extras should be understood before travel.

Booking for a return flight? Calculate the time you need at the terminal first, then work backwards to set a safe pickup time. A 90-minute drive estimate is not the same as needing to leave only 90 minutes before takeoff.
